SNOW CLEARING IS ONE PART OF THE JOB
Plan for what freezes next.
A cleared path can become slippery again. Ice treatment is a separate service decision involving the surface, the conditions and the areas that need attention.
Winter route planning. Equipment, coverage, scope and service terms must be confirmed before bookings open.
Describe where the ice forms.
Photos and a simple description are more useful than asking for “salt everywhere.” Identify shade, low spots, downspouts and places where runoff crosses a walking route. This helps separate a treatment request from a drainage or repair problem.
- Driveway edges, entrances, steps and walkways.
- Pavement, pavers, wood or another surface.
- Known runoff or refreezing areas.
- Nearby plants and any material concerns you want considered.
Choose the material and area together.
No material should be described as harmless to every pet, plant or surface. A future treatment plan should identify the product, suitable conditions, the application area and relevant restrictions. Basura Bros. has not established a winter material program or offered a universal treatment guarantee.
Be specific about repeat applications.
One application and ongoing monitoring are different services. Define what is included after a thaw, freezing rain or another snowfall, who requests a return and how any additional charge is handled. Treatment is not a promise that a surface will stay ice-free.
Keep the scope realistic.
This is planning for ground-level property access. Roof ice, ice dams, structural problems and drainage repairs need their own qualified service. Winter route capacity and service terms must be confirmed before an application can be booked.
Fair questions.
Is ice treatment included with plowing?
Only if the agreed service specifically lists it. Clearing and treatment are separate line items and may involve different visits.
Will you use a pet-safe product?
Tell us your concern. Product selection and label restrictions need to be reviewed for the property; no product is promised as universally safe.
Does treatment replace fixing a drainage problem?
No. Persistent runoff may require a separate drainage or repair assessment. A surface treatment does not correct the source of the water.
Do you provide 24-hour ice monitoring?
No monitoring or emergency-response service is being promised. Any future visit terms must be agreed explicitly.
