LOW CEILINGS. BIG POSSIBILITIES.
Time to find the floor again.
Basement junk rarely gets there in one afternoon. Clearing it starts with the stairs, the headroom and a careful plan for what should leave.
Call to discuss the job, or send an enquiry. The crew must confirm scope, coverage and availability before a pickup is booked.
The exit route sets the job.
A walkout basement, an outside bulkhead and an interior staircase can mean very different labor. Photograph the stairs from both ends and show the door at the top. Tell us about low beams, tight turns and long carries through finished rooms.
- Number of steps and any landing or turn.
- Handrails, door openings and low headroom.
- The nearest practical loading spot.
- Any unusually heavy furniture or machinery.
Separate the ordinary clutter from the problem material.
Boxes, freestanding shelves and furniture can be reviewed for ordinary removal. Water-damaged material, suspected asbestos, sewage, extensive mold, pests or unsafe floors require a different assessment. We are not a remediation company and do not identify unknown building materials from a photograph.
Keep essentials in reach.
Identify electrical panels, heating equipment, shutoffs and access doors before the work. Keep documents, family photos and anything you are unsure about in a separate zone. The removal list should be specific enough that the crew never has to guess whether a box matters.
Plan the final walkthrough.
We agree on the items and parts of the basement being cleared, then confirm the route and price before loading. Tell us whether any appliance is still connected and whether shelving is attached. The agreed removal is the job; cleaning, structural work and utility disconnection are not silently bundled in.
Fair questions.
Can you work through a bulkhead entrance?
Possibly. Photos of the opening, steps and exterior landing help the crew review safe access.
What if the basement is damp?
Describe the condition before a visit. Dampness alone does not explain the material; contamination or unsafe surfaces may require specialist help.
Can you remove an old boiler or oil tank?
These are outside an ordinary household junk pickup. Do not assume utility disconnection, tank work or industrial-weight handling is included.
Should I carry everything upstairs first?
Do not attempt an unsafe lift. Show us the items where they are and agree on access and handling first.
