Mattresses have their own disposal rules in Massachusetts. Tell us the size, count, condition and access so we can check the right route before accepting a pickup.

Count the mattress and the foundation.
A mattress, a box spring and a bed frame are separate items with different handling needs. Include all of them in your request. A foam mattress in a box still needs a mattress-specific review.
- Twin, full, queen, king or crib mattress.
- One-piece or split foundation / box spring.
- Bed frame, rails and headboard, if those are also going.
- Any stairs or narrow turns between the room and the truck.
Massachusetts treats mattresses separately.
The state’s mattress disposal ban took effect November 1, 2022 and includes qualifying mattresses and box springs. That is why a mattress cannot simply be priced as ordinary mixed household trash. Condition and receiving requirements determine the available route.
Be direct about condition.
Tell us about moisture, mold, insects or other contamination before a visit. A mattress that cannot enter a standard recycling route needs a different assessment. We do not accept pest remediation or promise removal of contaminated bedding. Keep a dry mattress protected from weather while its route is being arranged.
What changes the quote?
The number of pieces, size, stairs, carry distance and destination fees all matter. Photos help establish the scope; the crew confirms acceptance and the agreed price before loading. Adding a bed frame or another roomful of furniture changes the job.

Can I leave it outside before collection?
Keep it dry and secure while you wait for a confirmed plan. Weather exposure can change its condition and the receiving options.
Does a box spring count separately?
Yes. List every mattress and foundation so the crew can check piece counts and any destination charges.
Can you take a mattress with bedbugs?
Not through an ordinary mattress pickup. Disclose suspected insects before any visit; a specialist plan may be required.
Is the bed frame included?
Only if it is listed in the agreed scope. Photograph the frame and say whether it needs disassembly.
